SUMMARY OF MY ROLE AND EXPERTISE 

My name is Dr. Timonen and I am responsible for the internationalization, partnerships, and global education services at Karelia UAS. I contribute extensively to the international research, development, and innovation (RDI) processes. My portfolio includes more than 40 international and national RDI projects. I have been designing and leading Horizon, Erasmus+, TFK, Nordplus, and Asia programs but also Developing Country programs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ESF, EAFRD, ERDF, CBC, and EU-CAN projects. I am the local coordinator of the INVEST European University Alliance and I lead the current global education projects in China, Chile, and Uzbekistan.

POSITIONS OF TRUST
I have a wide international and national network and have several positions of responsibility. I am a member of the national boards of the International Forum and Team Finland Knowledge Network at the Ministry of Education and Culture, a member of the North Karelia regional committee of internationalization, and a member of the PINNET network of the heads of internationalization at Finnish UAS.
