My name is Jan Van Lersel, I have been the chairman of the Executive Board of Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences (VHL) for three years. Being a knowledge institute, we combine education, provided by passionate experts, and applied research within the various professorships. We educate our students to become high-quality, ambitious, and innovative professionals who contribute to a more sustainable world. With the Strategic Plan 'Growing as experts in transition', we give direction to our education and research for the period 2022-2025.

My colleagues describe me as an ambitious team player. I have extensive experience in higher professional education, in the field of teaching, research, and management.  At Van Hall Larenstein we aim to maintain strong relationships with Invest and a selective number of European partners. Our primary goal is to remain the most sustainable university of applied sciences in the Netherlands, which we have been for the past 5 years. We are in the top 3 of the best universities in the 'green' and 'blue' domains.
