I’m Marjo Nenonen and I work as Head of Educational Development. The unit I am responsible for includes e.g., Admission and Student Services, Student Welfare, and support for online learning. I coordinate joint development actions in education at Karelia. My background is in teaching languages and communication. I have published both in Finnish and English.

I have a Ph.D. in Education and my research interests are e.g., performance-based funding of HEIs, effectiveness, and quality of education. I am enthusiastic about developing higher education and working with students and teachers. My greatest achievement as a teacher was when our student union awarded me the Teacher of the Year -award. I enjoy playing cards and board games which once earned me the nickname “Gambler”.
