Home News Exciting News: Our Paper Accepted at ICACS 2023!

We're excited to announce that the paper authored by the researchers of INVEST, Professor Nicholas Samaras and Assistant Professor Omiros Iatrellis, has been accepted for presentation and publication at the 7th International Conference on Algorithms, Computing, and Systems (ICACS 2023), which will take place at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Thessaly, Larissa, Greece during October 19-21, 2023.

Paper Title: "KONX: A Dynamic Approach for Explainable AI in Higher Education"
Authors: Omiros Iatrellis, Nicholas Samaras, Charalampos Dervenis, Theodor Panagiotakopoulos

In this paper, the authors introduce the KONX approach, a novel methodology aimed at harnessing the potential of Explainable AI (XAI) in Higher Education. By prioritizing interpretability, the research strives to bridge the gap between AI-driven decision-making and user comprehension in education. The core mission of this research work is to utilize the KONX methodology to enhance transparency and interpretability within the EDUC8EU AI system.

The paper will be published in the International Conference Proceedings Series by ACM (ISBN: 979-8-4007-0909-8). These proceedings will be archived in the prestigious ACM Digital Library and indexed by Ei Compendex, Scopus, and other renowned databases.

This acceptance at ICACS 2023 is a testament to the innovative strides being made by INVEST researchers in reshaping the landscape of AI in education.
