INVEST TECHNICAL OFFICE AT UCO TAKES PART IN SEA-EU TRAINING ON EUROPEAN JOINT DEGREES ORGANISED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF CÁDIZ
The INVEST Alliance Technical Office at the University of Córdoba took part on 22 and 29 May 2026 in a training activity organised by the University of Cádiz, within the framework of the SEA-EU European University Alliance. The training focused on the design, accreditation and implementation of European joint degrees.
The activity brought together professionals from 13 Spanish universities interested in learning from the experience gained by the University of Cádiz and SEA-EU in the development of joint international academic programmes. Organised jointly by the Vice-Rectorate for Degrees and Quality and the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation of the University of Cádiz, the training included both onsite and online participants and addressed some of the main challenges currently faced by European universities in this field.
The sessions covered key aspects related to the implementation of international joint degrees, including academic governance, inter-institutional coordination, quality assurance, student mobility, international accreditation, the preparation of joint programme documentation, and models for co-teaching, co-assessment and co-governance.
The participation of the INVEST-UCO Technical Office in this training forms part of the wider joint effort of the INVEST Alliance partners to develop innovative joint educational programmes, strengthen European academic cooperation and contribute to the transformation of the European Higher Education Area.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned among Spanish universities involved in different European University Alliances, fostering the exchange of good practices related to the implementation of international joint programmes and joint degrees. In this context, the initiative promoted by the University of Cádiz and SEA-EU represents a valuable forum for further progress towards more collaborative, international and interconnected university models.
