It is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that Invest European University Alliance project was at UARD, University of Agribusiness and Rural Development, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria to develop and announce its 5 new curriculum specializations, from February 7 to February 9, 2023. A collaborative task with delegates of all 5 partners working tirelessly in groups to finalize and publicize the new specializations. All members and delegates were guided and directed by Tanja van Heuvelen. 

To change the education landscape across Europe and globally and provide creative solutions, and strive toward solving global problems we are proud to announce our new Specializations:

  1.  “Sustainable business development” will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies in the field of business analyses and planning, risk management, business communications, and creating shared value. This knowledge is needed for effective management in modern business organizations. Responsible partners SUA, Slovak University of Agriculture, in Nitra, Slovakia, and UARD University of Agribusiness and Rural Development, Plovdiv, Bulgaria.                                                                                                                                                                                                            
  2. “Adapting land and water management to climate change.” Will provide students the knowledge and ability to adapt strategies in water management, management of infrastructure and the built environment, urban and rural development, and related disaster risk management for mitigating climate change impacts on this. Responsible partner UTH, University of Thessaly, Greece.                                                                                                                                                                            
  3.  “Sustainable agriculture” Will provide students with a multi-disciplinary career - environmental science, technology, business, and politics. For those who are eager to make a difference in the world, and those who want to protect the environment; Sustainable agriculture is a transformative industry that is undergoing rapid changes. Fast-growing sector providing career stability as this sector is expected to grow consistently shortly.   4. “Regional food-system transitions & environmental quality" Students will be provided with a transition on radical improvement of food security, change of land use, entrepreneurship, and healthy aging attained through the means of in-depth business modeling. A regional community-based food system is therefore the link with a healthy living environment, sustainability, biodiversity, and holistic business models. Responsible partner VHL, Van Hall Larenstein, Netherlands          
  5. “Forestry adaptation to a changing environment” Will provide students with the knowledge and skills how to cope with the challenges related to forestry in the future. Part of the content is forestry in Europe, which gives perspective and background for further topics. It is essential to learn how to conduct the management of the forest due to changes in the environment, such as climate change and increasing demands of society for the use of forests. The possibilities of forests in carbon management as well as the diverse use of forests complete the knowledge provided by these studies. Responsible partner Karelia, Joensuu, Finland.
